Waterproofing Of Terrace Garden

Before installing, we ensure that the area where waterproofing system needs to be install shall made free from all other activities that could disrupt the installation of the system. We also inspect and ensure that the substrates are free of cracks, protrusions and damage to surface integrity. We carry out all the necessary rectification and preparatory works before the installation of the specified waterproofing system. The methodology given below shall be applicable only on those concrete structures, whichhave specially designed for garden purpose.

All thedrain pipes openings shall be just above the prepared substrate surface, and if they are not, either the substrate shall be repaired or the drain pipe relocated suitably.

Special attention shall be given on substrate preparation on the internal surfaces of drain pipe openings to ensure it is carried out to properly

Cleaning and removing of loosely adhering particles with wire brush/blower/ high pressure water jet wash and made free from any other contaminants (if any).

Surface shall be prepared with ready to use repair mortar or polymer modified mortar to receive the waterproofing properly after opening of cracks in 10 x 10 mm ā€œVā€ Shaped grooves and 20 x 20mm in brick wall, in case of live cracks the same shall be filled with flexible sealant. The pipe joints are to be sealed specially with epoxy mortar.

Grouting operation shall be done at construction joints at a distance @ .75 to 1.0 Mtr C/c with NSGC or Epoxy strengthening grout.

Choice of waterproofing systems is depends on various aspects such as requirement of site, locations, applicability of products, flexible to movement, durability and combination of layers etc.

For better strength and reinforcement to waterproofing layers it is recommend that a suitable woven fiber mesh of 45-60 GSM shall be placed between the layers except vertical surface.

Coving of 100 x 100 mm at all the junctions between slab and wall in CC 1:2:4 with 12mm nominal size stone ballast, under the drip coarse finish with CM in 1:3 admixed with waterproofing admixture.

Applying of anti-root, anti-biological growth and chemical resistant coating is necessary after achieving SSD conditions of laid concrete. The cast concrete should be in 1:1.5:3 with minimum 50 mm thick and panels of 3 x 3 Mtr sealed with high-grade flexible sealant.

Drainage systems shall be provided with required height and compressive strength followed by a layer of geotextile fabric of 120-150 GSM before and on top of the systems for filtration.

After testing and ensuring that the systems is watertight and function of drainage systems is working properly then vegetation soil shall be poured upto required level.
